I graduated from LFO in 1992 then went to Georgia Tech.  While attending Georgia Tech I was able to complete a summer study program at Oxford, in England in the field of Bio Engineering.  I graduated from college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in BioEngineering.  I worked as a Mechanical Engineer with DuPont (later named Invista) for almost 10 years before I was blessed with children of my own and chose to pursue other career paths.  As an engineer I spent a lot of time training others and have always loved math and science.  Becoming an educator was a natural career path.  I received a Master's degree in Math Education from Columbus State and have certifications in Mathematics grade 6-12, Sp Ed General Curriculum grades P-12, and Sp Ed Math cognitive levels P-5, 4-8, 6-12.

My teaching experience started as a substitute teacher here in Catoosa County.  I completed several long term assignments in the math departments of Ringgold Middle, Ringgold High, and LFO.  Through that experience I was able to acquire a job at PLC in the math department, where I worked for 2 years before acquiring a math position at LFO.  I have been at LFO for 6 years now.  I have taught Foundations of Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Math of Finance, and College Readiness Math.

I was born here in Fort Oglethorpe at what was then called Tri County Hospital.  I have lived here all of my life except for my time in Atlanta during college.  Through college and my first engineering job I was able to travel to many different countries and have worked with and along with a diverse group of people including everyone from entry level workers all the way to the vice presidents of large companies.  My life has been blessed with many awesome adventures and I have met many wonderful people!  Through my work (and math) I met my husband and we have two children ages 10 and 5 who keep us very busy.  Other than math, my hobbies are hanging out with my family, playing logic games, and watching Hallmark movies.
