I was born and raised in the Rossville/Fort Oglethorpe area. I graduated from LFO in 2009. From there, I pursued a nursing degree at Kennesaw State University...for one year. I then realized that healthcare wasn't my passion, but rather it was educating and mentoring children and youth. In 2010 I began working with the youth group at my church. I transferred to UTC and changed my degree to early childhood education. Throughout my time at UTC, I worked for the school aged childcare program through Hamilton County. I was an assistant for two years and a director for two years. I graduate in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a certification in Special Education and an endorsement in Middle Grades Education.

For my first four years of teaching, I worked as a fourth grade teacher in an inner city school in Chattanooga. I taught literacy, science, and social studies. During my time at the school, I was on the PBIS team, RTI committee, and leadership team. I participated in attending and leading many professioal development sessions through the state and county.

I am very passionate about classroom management, encouraging positive behavior through building relationships, and implementing RTI to reach students with difficulties in learning.
